The first town hall will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 in the Multipurpose Room (PUB 101) at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. This meeting will be hosted by the Associated Students of Eastern Washington University. The second town hall is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane. “With the ongoing budget problems facing the state and continued talk of tax increases in Olympia, I think people are looking for a way to make sure that their voices are heard,” Baumgartner said. “My town halls are an excellent opportunity for 6th District residents to do just that. I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say.”
During the public meetings Baumgartner will offer an update on the recently concluded special legislative session, as well as discuss legislative issues impacting the district and the state. The first town hall at EWU will touch on redistricting, but primarily focus on higher education.
