An update from Michael Cathcart, Spokane City Affairs Liaison...
In responding to the call to action, Republicans and Conservatives united to oppose the City of Spokane's Sustainability Action Plan. Nearly forty citizens came to speak, a majority of which argued against the unreasonable and radical proposals contained within the Plan. Some spoke about it's fiscal uncertainty, while others questioned the true international origins of Sustainable Development. Former 6th Legislative Representative John Ahern, Spokane County Republican Chair Cindy Zapotocky, and Republican State Committeeman Curt Fackler were among the many who addressed the Council Monday night. The council deferred the decision for at least three weeks allowing for a full complement of the council to be present at vote. Written testimony will be accepted until Friday, April 24th at 5:00pm.
